Rare and very pretty, this charming brooch is by Andreson and Scheinpflug brooch - c.1940s
Jens Ingvald Andresen 1901-1974 was apprentice at the workshop to Hjortdahl & Meldahl from 1915 to 1919. He stayed with the firm until 1931 when Meldahl left to form his own company. Andresen followed Meldahl & continued to work for him until 1936. In 1936 Andresen co-founded a separate silver & enamel workshop and called it Andresen & Scheinpflug in Oslo. This brooch is a lovely example of their work and was made in the 1940s in Norway.
Small in size, and is crafted from 925 silver and pearlised white enamel but is bronze in colour which works well with the white.
Great vintage condition. Does have slight tarnish on the front and at the back but it's 80 years old and it adds interest!
Hallmarked and has maker's stamp
